Collection Development Tips for Adult Materials

Page history last edited by Diana Miranda-Murillo 3 mos ago
As I mentioned before, as the children are brought in for programs by their parents, you can show the adults the materials that you have purchased for them. ESL materials are a must, as well as books that help them in their every day lives, finding a job, resume handbooks, GED in Spanish, childrearing, etc. If possible you should have a variety of media, books, CD’s and DVD’s. Also, people that immigrate also tend to get homesick, and Latinos have music in their soul. So don’t forget your music collection. It is so good to be able to hear the music that one might have left behind.
Here is a link to the suggested materials presented at the CTLS workshop on Nov. 29, 2007
This is a "media list" built in amazon.com under my profile (Paola Ferate).
